My Services

As a Holistic Massage therapist, I combine classical Swedish massage techniques (effleurage, petrissage, kneading, percussion) with gentle hand holds, deeper pressure techniques, stretches and passive joint mobilisations, to deliver a massage tailored to your needs. My massage is based in a solid knowledge of the body structures and a deep awareness of the complex interconnections between body, mind and emotions.

I offer 60-minute and 90-minute sessions from a cosy, quiet practice room in Brislington, Bristol (parking space available).

We will first have a short talk, where I’ll get to know about your needs and wants and plan the best massage for you. I don't do routines, we can focus on the areas you feel you need attention! I use a comfortable professional-grade massage table, with extra thick high-density foam for maximum comfort.

Benefits of Massage

Massage affects the body physiology in many positive ways. But that is not just it, massage also has multiple psychological and emotional benefits, thus supporting our overall health and mental wellbeing. Moreover, massage encourages body awareness, helping us recognise the natural body messages and feel more connected.

Direct effects in cells and tissues

  • Release of muscle tensions (relaxing tight muscles)

  • Reduction of muscle fatigue

  • Improved of blood circulation

  • Joint lubrication and improved range of motion

  • Stimulation of sensory neurons (improved sensory reception, pain relief, induced relaxation)

  • Encouraging lymph drainage

Indirect effects (modulation of the nervous and endocrine systems)

  • Activation of the vagus nerve (part of the parasympathetic nervous system, PNS), which shuts down the stress response (relief of anxiety and depression)

  • Vagal stimulation has these added benefits: reduces blood pressure, improves digestion, boosts immune function (natural body defenses), improves sleep, pain relief

  • Compassionate and reassuring touch is a source of safety and comfort through the induction of feel-good hormones (endorphins, serotonin and dopamine)

  • Endorphins are also endogenous painkillers, contributing to pain relief
